1) Describe your investigation of materials? How do the materials you chose relate to or effectively communicate the idea behind your work I chose to use watercolor for this piece to give it a dreamy and elegant look. I wanted the piece to represent a dream and the watercolor helped me make the piece look dream like. 2)Identify the purpose, meaning, or overarching idea of the work of art. This piece represents the beginning of imagining the humanization of dogs. I wanted to show that dogs have a human part of them and you just have to imagine and see it through different eyes. 3)How did practice and revision guide your end product? The angle of both the dog and the human was very challenging to paint. I had to change the angle of the mouth and nose many times to get it to look natural on the human face. The dogs mouth was also challenging to do because I had to figure out how it was positioned without a reference. In my reference photo the dogs mouth is covered by his toy so I had to imagine how it would be without the toy. The hands were also pretty challenging to do. I had to revise the colors a lot because they were either to orange or to purple. 4) Describe your process when creating this work. I knew I wanted to come up with an idea that would represent the comfort that both dogs and humans give one another. I decided one a picture of me and my dog cuddling as reference because we both look so content and relaxed in the photo. I wanted the background to give off a dreamy look to represent the relaxation that both of us feel. I decided on a galaxy background because I feel like the night sky is something that is very calming and it feels like you are in another world when you are looking up at it. I also chose to use watercolor to continue that feeling of relaxation. I started with sketching out my piece on watercolor paper. I then started with my background first so that I could go ahead and set my guidelines for were things started and ended. I then went in and did the darkest parts of the piece first, such as the eyes or the paws. I then began adding my shadows and colors. I did a light wash of the color over were it was going to go and then later on I added a darker shade of that color over top. I used blue for the shadows so that they did not go dark to fast. Lastly, I used white acrylic paint to do the light parts that might have been taken away in the process, such as the stars and highlights on the skin.

1) Describe your investigation of materials? How do the materials you chose relate to or effectively communicate the idea behind your work I chose to use acrylic paint for this piece so that I could capture the movement and texture really well. Acrylic gives a piece a little bit of a 3D look with the strokes that you make on the canvas. That 3D effect that it gives off really complemented the texture on the mirror and in the clouds. I also love how acrylic wash looks and I did that over the mirror to give it a barrier between real life and heaven in the mirror. The acrylic not only gives off that 3D look but it also allows me to create clean lines that make the piece appear more realistic. Overall all the elements of acrylic were perfect to represent the idea behind this piece and it gave the piece life. 2)Identify the purpose, meaning, or overarching idea of the work of art. This piece represents the connection that an owner has with their dog even after death. The owner is looking through the mirror at the reflection of her dog which resembles her. The dog is shown in heaven but the hand and paw touching through the mirror shows the connection that the dog and the human have still. 3)How did practice and revision guide your end product? The main thing that I had to revise and practice was the mirror. As you can see through the sketches and in-progress photos, the mirror design changed a lot. I wanted it to have an angelic look and have a lot of texture. I went through multiple references and decided on one that had both gold and black. I had to do the pattern over again many times because it was extremely difficult to figure out were all of the shadows and highlights would go at the angle it was in the painting. My first idea was just having the human looking in the mirror. I thought that it was very dull and plan and I wanted to express the connection of the two more. I decided to add the idea of being connected even after death to make the piece more interesting and expressive of my investigation. 4) Describe your process when creating this work. I began by thinking about what I wanted the piece to represent. I knew that I wanted the piece to have a mirror incorporated in it to again show the similarities of the dog and the human. I realized that my first idea was too simple and did not express what I wanted it to. I then decided to incorporate the idea of connection after death into the piece. I wanted all of the elements that I added to connect to the meaning of the piece which explains my usage of the dark dress and the angelic mirror. After sketching out a few ideas, I had the piece planed out. I then started painting on my canvas with a red-orange wash to make the color pop. I then sketched out the piece on the canvas. I started with the background so that the piece would look neatly layered. After I had most of the backdrop done I put a base of black in the mirror frame. I then began to work on the dog and the human and their specific features. I went back and forth between elements to give my eyes a break so that I could make the best possible piece. I waited to do the detail on the mirror because it was very intimidating. I eventually went in and did an outline for the patterns on the mirror with a gold-grey paint. I then added the shadows, highlights, and more bright gold colors. I did a wash of whitish yellow paint on the mirror to give it more of a barrier.

1) Describe your investigation of materials? How do the materials you chose relate to or effectively communicate the idea behind your work? I chose to use acrylic paint for this piece because I wanted the colors to be bright and happy. My friend Lily and her dog, who this painting is based off of, are both very friendly and happy. I wanted this to be shown through my use of colors and medium that I used. Not only that but the overall theme for my investigation is very comedic and fun and I wanted this to show through my use of bold and bright colors, which are greatly achieved through acrylic paint. 2)Identify the purpose, meaning, or overarching idea of the work of art. This piece represents my friend Lily and her resemblance to her dog Mango. They are very similar not only visually but also through their personalities. Both Lily and her dog are extremely intelligent and have a sort of elegance in the way that they hold themselves. I showed this in my piece through the position that she is in and the outfit choice. The overall idea of this piece was just to show Lily and her dogs connection to one another. 3)How did practice and revision guide your end product? Throughout painting this piece I was continuously changing little details. The dress pattern was something that I had to practice multiple times before I could get it right. I also felt as though the background was flat and I made the decision to add different layers of different blue colors to make the background more interesting. 4) Describe your process when creating this work. I started with looking through my photos that I had of my friend Lily and her dog. I wanted to find a reference that expressed their personalities. I found a picture of Lily that showed her personality not only through her pose but through her dress. I then took a picture of her dog in a similar position and layed it over Lily's head. I sketched out my piece and came up with different ideas for the background. I ended up picking blue as my background color because it is the color that I have always associated Lily with. I began painting my piece by washing my canvas with a red orange paint. I then began sketching the dog/human combo. I started with the background so that the dog would look more 3D. I then began blocking in basic colors on the dress and dog. These colors became many colors as layers were added. I painted over the dress pattern two times in order to get the pattern right. I began adding shadows and highlights as well. The last thing that I did was add the dark blue parts of the background to give it more depth.

1) Describe your investigation of materials? How do the materials you chose relate to or effectively communicate the idea behind your work When picking my materials for this piece I thought about my personality and the look that the piece would have. I have always loved bright and dramatic colors and I think that these could be well incorporated by acrylics. I also think having the bright and blocky look of the acrylic would add to my investigation due to the humer associated with it. 2)Identify the purpose, meaning, or overarching idea of the work of art. This piece was based off of my relationship with my dog and myself. I wanted to express both of our personalities in the piece and our similarities as well. One of my favorite places in the world is Charleston, South Carolina. I love all the bright and historic homes and just the overall southern energy. I wanted to include a part of Charleston in this piece to represent my creative side through the details of the city. That is why I chose to use this background in my piece. I also wanted to show me and my dogs dramatic side through the position in which we are sitting and the outfit. This piece overall represents my connection to my dog and how I see parts of myself in her. 3)How did practice and revision guide your end product? The background for this piece was very difficult. I had first thought that I was not going to need a background and that it could just be a solid pink but that idea changed when I realized that it would look like she was floating. I then added stairs but thought that they could just be pink. This did not work because the stairs looked like they were floating now. I finally decided that I would add the background of one of my senior photos in Charleston to represent another part of me. I also had to practice painting the stairs and making them proportionate. I redid the stairs a total of three times in order to get them just the way I wanted them. 4) Describe your process when creating this work. I started by looking for photos of me that I thought represented who I am and just captured me as a person. I then needed to find a reference image of my dog that would fit with the image I chose of me. Once I had both references I began creating my sketch and planning out different ideas for the background. I wanted to use a pink background because it is a color that I associate myself with. This ended up changing later on in the process. After I had done my sketch I then did a wash of red orange on my canvas so that the colors would pop. After that had dried I then sketched out my piece. I carefully painted around my sketch with the pink acrylic paint. I then began adding details to the face. I always do the face first after the background because it helps me to envision the rest of the piece as I am painting. When I was happy with the way that the body looked I then put my attention back to the background. The background at this point was a hot pink color and there were no stairs or details. The piece seemed off because it looked like the figure was floating. I decided to add stairs to the piece with the same color pink. The stairs helped the placement of the figure but now the stairs looked like they were floating. That is when I came up with the idea to incorporate the Charleston background to not only create a better composition but to give more meaning to the piece. I sketched over the background that I had and began painting. I noticed different reflections in the marble stairs and added them in as well as on the door. I also added the tail because that is a very distinct feature on my dog. Lastly, I added little details such as the dots on the dress and the number on the door.

1) Describe your investigation of materials? How do the materials you chose relate to or effectively communicate the idea behind your work I chose to use acrylic paint to make the colors in the piece stand out. Blue and pink were both main parts of the piece and I wanted them to show up really well so I chose to use acrylic. 2)Identify the purpose, meaning, or overarching idea of the work of art. The purpose of this piece was to show the humanization of dogs through caring for children. I wanted to make the motherly feeling more human than animal. 3)How did practice and revision guide your end product? I had to change what I was doing for the background of the piece multiple times. I started off wanted to do a crib in the background, but eventually I decided just to do a plain background so that the dogs would stand out more. I then thought of doing a mixture of blue and pink for the background and then decided that the blue clashed with the color of the scarf holding the puppy. I finally decided to use a solid pink color to represent the colors associated with children (blue and pink). 4) Describe your process when creating this work I began doing this piece by brainstorming how I wanted to express the idea of children or motherly love. I edited multiple images together to create my sketch and idea. When I was happy with how my sketch looked I began sketching it out on a canvas. I started by painting the dog and then I did the background. I started with using both blue and pink in the background and then decided to just do pink in the background.

1) Describe your investigation of materials? How do the materials you chose relate to or effectively communicate the idea behind your work I wanted to use a medium that was very vibrant to give off a happy look. My investigation is very comedic and I wanted this to show through the choice of medium. Acrylic also helps me to establish the harsh lines that make a piece more realistic. I wanted as much detail as possible to go into the painting and acrylic makes it easy to add. 2)Identify the purpose, meaning, or overarching idea of the work of art. The purpose of this piece was to show the similarities between my friends two poodles and them. I also wanted to represent the sisterly bond that both the dogs and the humans have. I also added more human elements to the dogs in this piece by adding human eyes to the dogs and jewelry. Through the background I wanted to represent things that both the humans and the dogs enjoy doing together. They love going on walks at the Marietta Square which is represented by the fountain. The dogs love hanging out under a huge magnolia tree in their yard and as kids me and the girls would climb the magnolia tree. Both the poodles and their owners have very elegant personalities and I wanted to show this through the way that they are holding themselves and their choice of outfits. I went through multiple images until I found the right outfit choice for the painting. 3)How did practice and revision guide your end product? I had to practice doing both the brick and the shoes in this painting. I wanted the painting to be as realistic as I could get it and the brick kept looking cartoonish. I redid the brick a total of three times to try to prefect the realism. I finally created a brick that I was happy with even though it was not perfect. The shoes also took a lot of revision and practice to get them right. Sketching the shoes in the beginning helped me to recognize where the different shadows should go. I also redid the shoes a number of times to get them right. I decided to make them look a little more faded so that the attention did not go to them. I am overall really happy with how both the shoes and the brick turned out and I can see a huge improvement from the beginning. 4) Describe your process when creating this work. I started by sketching out multiple ideas that I had for this painting. I started sketching another image that only had one of the dogs in it, but then later decided that I wanted to show the bond of the two sisters both dog and human. To capture more of the human look in the dogs I added their owners eyes and body to the dogs. In the background I wanted to add elements that remind me of both the owners and their dogs. I added the Marietta Square fountain in the background because both the owners and their dogs are always going on walks around the square. I also added a magnolia tree in the back to represent the dogs favorite hiding spot which is under a giant magnolia in their front yard. Once I had created my overall idea I began painting on a canvas. I did a red orange wash on the canvas so that the color of the acrylic paint would be enhanced. I then sketched out the painting so that I had an idea of where everything would go. I blocked in the dogs so that I would not loose were they were going to go. I then worked on the background of the piece. I worked top to bottom, completing the tree, the dogs faces, and the fountain first. I then moved on to the clothing. The last thing that I did was the brick and the shoes. Those were also the hardest part for me to do. I ended up redoing the brick and shoes multiple times to make them look more realistic. It also took a lot of practice for me to get the brick the way that I wanted it to look.

1) Describe your investigation of materials? How do the materials you chose relate to or effectively communicate the idea behind your work When deciding what material to use for my piece I was considering both acrylic and watercolor. When I envision a wedding in a painting I think of the elegance of watercolor. However, the true meaning of the piece was to show an owners connection to a specific breed and humanize there past dogs. For that theme I envisioned the piece in acrylic paint to show a more comedic look that my investigation gives off. I decided to go with the acrylic so that the painting would go more with the meaning of the piece rather than the atmosphere. I think that this was the right choice because I feel like the elegance is still there but the bold and funny part of the piece is brought in by the blockiness of the acrylic paint. 2)Identify the purpose, meaning, or overarching idea of the work of art. The purpose of this piece was to show an owner / owner's connection to a specific breed of dog. In this case it was golden retrievers. I used my grandparents wedding photo as a reference and used their love for golden retrievers to influence my idea of the golden retriever use in the painting. 3)How did practice and revision guide your end product? My piece changed a lot throughout the process of creating it. The change occurred mostly in the background of the piece. My first plan was to have a group of goldens in the back as wedding guests and have a cake in the front of the piece. I painted guest in and then decided to add the greenery to fill in the space in the top of the painting. After looking over the piece again I decided that the dog on the right was throwing the piece off and I did not want to add the cake because it might take the attention away from the actual dogs. I completely changed the background to make the two dogs stand out more. I wanted to have the greenery but it needed something else so I added the curtains. 4) Describe your process when creating this work. I began by sketching out multiple layouts and ideas for the piece. I wanted the focus of the piece to be on the bride and the groom. After making multiple sketches I chose the idea that I liked the best and did a color sketch of it and some of the elements that would go into it. I then took a canvas and painted a layer of orange-red wash as a base for the painting. After that layer was dry I sketched out the piece on the canvas. I started by painting the background grey and then I began painting the dogs and their details. I then began adding in the other details in the background such as the curtains, greenery, and the guest. I then decided that the background was not working. I painted over it and came up with a less complex idea that would not take the attention away from the bride and groom. I decided to add in curtains framing the bride and groom and on the top of the piece I added greenery. I touched up the outfits of the bride and groom from where the background had overlapped with them. In the greenery I added different textures and types of leaves to give it a more interesting look. I then add in more shading in the dogs as well as more colors in their fur such as blue and pink.

1) Describe your investigation of materials? How do the materials you chose relate to or effectively communicate the idea behind your work When finding the right medium for this piece I was looking at the texture of the background and finding what medium would work best to create the rough texture of the rocks. I decided that acrylic paint would be the best because it creates sharp edges and it is one of the easier mediums to do rocks in. I really wanted the background to show so that it would express the adventure that the dogs were going on and you could tell where they are. 2)Identify the purpose, meaning, or overarching idea of the work of art. The purpose of this piece was to show the humanization of dogs by showing them taking a selfie while on a hike. So many people these days use their phones and love to look back on activities they did by taking selfies. This painting showed dogs taking a snapshot that they will look back on to remember their adventures. 3)How did practice and revision guide your end product? When creating this piece I first had to practice creating the trees. I did this practice with watercolor in my sketchbook so that I could understand how to add the colors in the correct areas on the trees. This practice helped me to understand where the shadows would go and the highlights. I began doing this piece with another dog in between the two dogs taking the selfie. I thought that this would give the painting some life but in reality it took away from the piece. I ended up taking away the third dog and the piece became more balanced. 4) Describe your process when creating this work I began this piece by brainstorming what human action or characteristic I wanted to express in the dogs. I decided on the adventure and selfie. I looked through my camera roll to find inspiration for the background and I decided to go with a mountain scene. I found a picture of me and my mom taking a selfie and placed it in the picture as well. I then decided on the dogs that I wanted to be in this painting. I chose the two that I did because they reminded me of hikers in the mountains with their scruffy look. I then sketched out my idea and practiced painting the trees. I then began painting my canvas. I did a orange wash over the canvas and then began sketching out the painting on the canvas. I then began by painting the dogs first. I then moved to the background and blocked in the different colors. Once the background was done I filled in the dogs more so that they would push in front of the background. Lastly, I added fine details using a small brush.

1) Describe your investigation of materials? How do the materials you chose relate to or effectively communicate the idea behind your work I wanted the medium that I chose to relate to the piece and what was being shown. I decided to use watercolor because the piece is of water. The watercolor helps to make the water look more realistic and gives a soft look to the piece. 2)Identify the purpose, meaning, or overarching idea of the work of art. This piece is another humanization of dogs and shows dogs experiencing a pool as we do. I wanted to give the painting bright colors and a summer look. 3)How did practice and revision guide your end product? I had to redo this piece multiple times in order to get the best outcome. I practiced painting the dog's faces at the angle that they were at in the painting and it took me a while to get used to painting them at such a far distance and at an angle. I went through multiple dog references in order to find the best fit for the piece. I also had to practice making the colors for this piece. There were a lot of bright and unique colors, especially on the watermelon raft. I had to test and mix many colors together in order to find the correct color. 4) Describe your process when creating this work. I started by sketching out my idea for this piece. Once I had the piece planned out I sketched out the piece on watercolor paper and began filling in the dogs first. I then went to the background and made sure not to overlap the background with the dogs. I had to redo the first painting because I made the mistake of doing the water first rather than the dogs. I used a fine brush to do the small details on the dogs faces. I had to add many different shades of blue to the water to make the reflections look realistic. My last step was doing a blue wash on places that needed shading, such as the bottom of the raft.

1) Describe your investigation of materials? How do the materials you chose relate to or effectively communicate the idea behind your work I chose to use acrylic so that I could really get a good amount of color and make the piece look more comedic. 2)Identify the purpose, meaning, or overarching idea of the work of art. Dogs normally go to a groomer and humans go to the salon. I switched these places in this piece to further show humanization. 3)How did practice and revision guide your end product? I had to experiment with how I wanted the wall in the back of the chairs to look. I went through many different looks and eventually landed on a pink framed abstract painting in the back. I also wanted to fill in empty space in the back and did this by adding a plant. 4) Describe your process when creating this work I began by planning out this piece. I decided on a basic layout and so elements that I might add. I then sketched out the piece on canvas and began painting. I began by painting the chairs so I would know where the placement of everything else was. I then did the walls and the flooring. I did a base shape for the pictures in the background and then I began painting the dogs. I started adding more deatails such as highlights and texture to the piece. I then experimented with the frames in the background and changed the color of them multiple times. While I was painting I wanted to fill in empty space and I added the plant in the back corner to do so. The very last thing that I did was the dryers because I had to put them on top of the dogs.

1) Describe your investigation of materials? How do the materials you chose relate to or effectively communicate the idea behind your work When deciding on the medium for this piece I was having to choose between oil and acrylic. The oil gave off more of an artistic vibe to the piece but the acrylic would allow me to make the dog painter more detailed. The detail would draw attention to the focal point of the piece. While I liked the idea of doing oil I decided to to acrylic so that the focal point would pop and the piece would express what I wanted it to. 2)Identify the purpose, meaning, or overarching idea of the work of art. The purpose of this piece was to show the humanization of dogs through a dog painting. My goal throughout this entire investigation is to incorporate humanization in dogs in all aspects and activity. This piece represented the creative side of both humans and dogs. 3)How did practice and revision guide your end product? I had to brainstorm a lot before starting this piece. I was struggling to come up with an idea that was different from the other ideas. I knew that I wanted to do a dog painting but I was not sure how I would do it. I went through many different ideas and layouts before I decided on this one. I decided on doing this particular one because it was different and it was elegant which would help to express how I think of creativity and art. I also had trouble deciding on the outfit that I wanted the dog to wear. I ended up choosing a white dress because it would not be as busy and it stood out from the rest of the painting. 4) Describe your process when creating this work I began by brainstorming ideas that I had for this piece. Once I had an idea that I liked I sketched it out using watercolor and pencil. I then did an orange wash on a canvas as a base. After that I began sketching out the piece over the orange wash. I started with the background first and worked my way up to doing the dog. I did more details towards the foreground of the piece to give it dimension. I then began doing the dog and the easel. I then did some fine details and altered anything that I thought needed some work, such as the sky.

I decided that watercolor was the best medium because it helped give off that elegance that I wanted in the piece. 2)Identify the purpose, meaning, or overarching idea of the work of art. For this piece I wanted to show the humanization of dogs doing activities. As a little girl so many kids did ballet as their activity. The piece shows a puppy participating in a normal human girl activity. 3)How did practice and revision guide your end product? I went through multiple reference photos to find the best angle. I wanted to add coloring to the background but I was not sure what color would work the best so I had to test out multiple different colors in order to find the best one for the piece. I ended up choosing purple because I felt like it represented the personality of the dog and it helped to create contrast. 4) Describe your process when creating this work. I began my piece by brainstorming on the layout of the piece. I sketched out my idea using colored pencils. After my idea was finalized I chose to use watercolor to represent the elegance of ballet. I sketched out the piece on watercolor paper and then began adding layers of colors. I began with light layers and then continuously added shading and dark colors. I then added the background and floor.

1) Describe your investigation of materials? How do the materials you chose relate to or effectively communicate the idea behind your work I chose to use acrylic paint for this piece because its bright and bold colors make it look comedic and happy. This piece represents a happy aspect of the connection between humans and dogs and I wanted to show this through the brightness of the acrylic paint. 2)Identify the purpose, meaning, or overarching idea of the work of art. This piece represents the similar interests humans and their dogs have in activities. Things that you do often with your dog will create a bond between you. This idea can be expanded into many different categories that dogs and their humans enjoy together. In this piece I used the example of snowboarding. 3)How did practice and revision guide your end product? I had to try many different layouts for this piece. Before I started my piece I arranged the elements such as the trees and the snowboarders in different places to find the most effective layout. I placed the dog in the center to draw the focus to him and then I added the other elements in the background. While creating this piece I realized that the dog looked unhappy and it did not go with the rest of the piece. For this reason I added the smile and tongue sticking out of the dogs mouth. I also had to practice the shadows on the snow. It was hard to figure out where they would lay and how far they should go. I had to re paint the shadows multiple times to get the correct result. 4) Describe your process when creating this work. I first began by planning out my idea. I knew what I wanted to do and I just had to express it in a good way. I planned out multiple ideas and then chose the one that I liked the best. I then practiced the colors that I wanted to add to the piece. When I had fully planned out my idea, I began painting on a canvas. I started with a red-orange wash and let that dry out. I then sketched out my piece over the red-orange wash. I began with my background base so that the dog and human would look 3-D. I then added my trees. At this point I was just filling in basic colors and saving details for later. After I got the base painted I began working on the dog and human figures. I filled in base colors and then added shadows and highlights over top of those and used my finger to blend them. I added snow and shading on the trees. The last thing that I did was the ski lift. I had to think about how the ski lift would be at the angle I had sketched it because I had no exact reference for it. After looking at different ski lift angles I was able to paint in the lift correctly. I wanted more motion in the piece and I decided to add the dogs tongue as a last min detail.

1) Describe your investigation of materials? How do the materials you chose relate to or effectively communicate the idea behind your work I wanted to create a piece that showed a more zoomed out and detailed view of the dog world and I felt like to really express the colors I needed to use a paint or medium that would show this. I decided on acrylic because acrylic seems to hold pigment better and it always comes out really bright. 2)Identify the purpose, meaning, or overarching idea of the work of art. This piece is the transition into a more detailed and active view of the dog world. The piece is meant to express everyday city life but all the people are dogs. 3)How did practice and revision guide your end product? For this piece I had to decide between two different layouts or angels of the city. I felt like the view that was further away from the people was better because it better expressed the idea of everyday life. I changed how the dogs in my painting look multiple times. I decided on the dogs that I did because they seemed to show a similar personality to the people in my reference photo. I had to practice painting in point of view again so that I could paint it accurately. I practiced in my sketches and multiple times on the canvas until I got it right. 4) Describe your process when creating this work I began by brainstorming and looking for good references that would relate the idea that I wanted the piece to show. I found two reference photos in my camera roll that I thought would fit in to what I wanted to do with this piece. I sketched out how both would look using watercolor and pencil. I decided to go with the one that was further away from the people in the photo. I then painted an orange-yellow coat on the canvas as a primer. After that was dry I began sketching out the piece. For this piece I had to be precise in order to get the point of view correct so I used a ruler to help me with this. I left out the dogs so that I could began with the background first and then layer them on later. I blocked in basic colors in the background and then began to slowly add different shades and colors to the piece. After I was satisfied with the background I added the dogs. I then finalized the piece with shading and little details.

1) Describe your investigation of materials? How do the materials you chose relate to or effectively communicate the idea behind your work I wanted this piece to have lots of detail and show bright colors. I chose to use acrylic paint because it would allow me to do lots of detail and the colors are really bright and vibrant. 2)Identify the purpose, meaning, or overarching idea of the work of art. The purpose of this piece was to act as a finally and to show how fashion represents personality. 3)How did practice and revision guide your end product? I planned out all of the dresses beforehand so that I would know what the basic look was. I painted the dresses and altered them so that they looked better or had a better design. I also had to change the faces of some of the dogs so they looked more natural. 4) Describe your process when creating this work I began this piece by sketching out each dress to represent different paintings in my portfolio. I then began sketching out the piece on canvas. I did each dress separately and worked on the details. I then added the dogs heads and arms. I had to do a lot of shading in order to make both the dresses and the dogs as realistic as I could get them. I added different textures and shine to each dress. I finally painted the background grey and added the curtains to frame the piece.
